The Iowa Energy Center board of directors and the Iowa Economic Development Authority have opened applications for a new program to support energy infrastructure projects. According to a press release, the Renewable loan program for energy infrastructure is available to help projects that facilitate the production, transport, storage or distribution of gas. Applications for the program are open until October 22. Funds will be available for energy infrastructure development, grid modernization, energy sector workforce development, emergency preparedness in rural or underserved areas, innovative technologies and the development of infrastructure for alternative fuel vehicles. Businesses, rural electricity co-ops, and municipal utilities located in Iowa are eligible for the program.
